Abstract

A review of the history of creation of European bison population (Bison bonasus bonasus) in the vicinity of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is presented. Described are the population dynamics, birth and death rates. Presented are datas on the formation of the spatial structure of this population and seasonal migrations of the bison. The prospects for further existence of Borisov population, and measures necessary for its maintenance are evaluated.
